Mastering Total Quality Management: How a Former CEO Transformed Businesses

Jeff Wyatt is an accomplished CEO with over two decades of experience leading mid-cap companies. As the former CEO of Venchurs, a prominent automotive supplier specializing in kitting, packaging, and other supply chain services, Wyatt demonstrated exceptional leadership, having grown the family-owned company from $65 million to $150 million in top-line sales while achieving ISO compliance and minority-owned certification. Under his leadership, Venchurs received numerous accolades, including the CNH NA Supplier of the Year, Akebono Brake Corporation Supplier of the Year, and the Chrysler Environmental Leadership Award. Additionally, Wyatt led Venchurs to receive FCA World Class Manufacturing certification, Goodwill Employer of the Year in Lenawee County, and the Michigan Manufacturing Tech Center Best Practice Continuous Improvement recognition.

Prior to his tenure at Venchurs, Wyatt held various C-Suite positions, including Director of Customer Value Management for the Carrier Systems Division of 3Com Corporation, Director TQM US Robotics, and Director of Training for the American Bar Association. In these roles, he successfully implemented Total Quality Management programs based on his study of the prestigious Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Award at reputable businesses such as Ritz Carlton Hotel Group and USAA.

Currently, Wyatt is researching and writing a book on how organizations can shift from an Anti-Learning to an Agile culture, which involves making fundamental changes to their operations to remain competitive in today’s fast-paced and ever-changing business environment. Furthermore, he provides consulting services to boutique private equity firms, helping them develop strategies for minority-owned businesses and serving as an interim CEO when necessary.

Growing up in a family of entrepreneurs, Wyatt gained an appreciation for business at an early age. Accompanying his father on sales calls and his mother on social work visits, he developed a keen sense of business acumen and social responsibility. A former youth pastor and the founder of a community church, Wyatt remains committed to giving back to his local community. He currently serves on the Finance Chair and Executive Board for the Michigan Hispanic Chamber of Commerce and the Board of the Michigan Hispanic Fund.

Wyatt holds a Bachelor’s degree from Wheaton College, a Master’s degree in Communications from Wheaton Graduate School, and an MBA from the University of Michigan Ross School of Business.
