Shahida Mausi is a name synonymous with excellence in the cultural and entertainment programming industry. In 1996, she founded The Right Productions, Inc. (TRP), a company that has managed and operated the 6,000-seat Chene Park Amphitheater in Detroit since 2004. Under her direction, Chene Park has increased events and attendance annually, serving approximately 100,000 in 2010.

As the president of TRP, Ms. Mausi has created national award-winning marketing promotions and gained sustained relationships with high-profile clients such as MGM Grand Detroit Casino, The City of Detroit, and Greektown Casino. Her company has also provided talent and production services for special events, including the Super Bowl XL Winter Blast, Detroit 300, the Detroit Music Festival, and Movement – Detroit’s Electronic Music Festival.

Ms. Mausi has produced and booked concerts with iconic artists such as Wynton Marsalis, Della Reese, Little Richard, Nina Simone, Deepak Chopra, Herbie Hancock, Judith Jamison, Fela, Jill Scott, Mary J. Blige, and Carmen McCrae. A pinnacle moment in her career occurred when she produced the largest event held to commemorate the historic visit of Nelson and Winnie Mandela to Detroit. More than 50,000 people attended the event, including Stevie Wonder, Aretha Franklin, a 2,000-voice choir, and an array of other artistic and political dignitaries.

Ms. Mausi is also a vital member of The Black Promoters Collective (BPC), a coalition of six of the nation’s top independent concert promotion and event production companies. The BPC produces 200-250 concerts and events across the country, providing platforms for some of entertainment’s biggest artists, including Charlie Wilson, H.E.R., Cardi B, Travis Scott, Stevie Wonder, Chris Brown, Usher, Ne-Yo, Erykah Badu, Jill Scott, Earth Wind and Fire, Martin Lawrence, Steve Harvey, Patti LaBelle, Toni Braxton, and more.

As the Chief Strategy Officer/Senior Vice President of the BPC, Ms. Mausi is responsible for building institutions that do well while doing good, utilizing the cultural and entertainment industries to serve the public.
