Keyon Payton is a man on a mission to bring healing to his community. As the Senior Pastor of New Bethel Missionary Baptist Church in Michigan, Payton has long been dedicated to helping those in need. But it wasn’t until he discovered the Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs) movement that he found a way to truly make a difference.
Through his work with the ACEs movement, Payton has become a master trainer in trauma-informed care and has worked tirelessly to bring this knowledge to his community. He is a founding member and President of the Board of the Institute of Trauma and Economic Justice, a non-profit organization dedicated to promoting economic justice and addressing the root causes of trauma.
In addition to his work with the Institute of Trauma and Economic Justice, Payton also serves as a Board Member for the Pontiac Schools District Promise Zone Authority Board, which is focused on providing educational opportunities and economic growth to the local community.
Payton’s dedication to trauma-informed care and his ability to empower his community to heal is inspiring. He recently authored the ACEs Starter Kit, a guide that provides practical tools for implementing trauma-informed care in any setting.
If you’re looking to learn more about ACEs and trauma-informed care, or are interested in bringing this approach to your community, be sure to connect with Keyon Payton and check out the ACEs Starter Kit. Together, we can build a healthier, more resilient future for all.
